Both Hearst Newspapers and Magazines were recognized with the Pulitzer Prize, journalism's highest honor. The Houston Chronicle was honored in the Editorial Writing category for a powerful series on dangerous train crossings and their effect on communities at risk, while Esquire won for its thought-provoking feature on an Alabama mayor’s secret digital life. In addition, the San Francisco Chronicle was named a finalist in National Reporting as well as in Local Reporting.

Esquire earned another top industry honor this year, winning the American Society of Magazine Editors’ National Magazine Award for General Excellence, Service & Lifestyle.

Big wins for Hearst Television!

Hearst Television stations shined bright this award season — KCRA-TV, KOCO-TV, WBAL-TV, WCVB-TV, WMUR-TV and WTAE-TV took home National Headliner Awards while KCCI-TV and WBBH-TV scored National Murrow Awards. Congrats to all for their dedication to local journalism!

Hearst Newspapers earned major recognition across the industry

Hearst Newspapers earned multiple Global Media Awards from the International News Media Association and 59 honors for Hearst Connecticut Media Group from the Connecticut Society of Professional Journalists. The San Antonio Express-News and San Francisco Chronicle earned George Polk Awards and SF Chronicle reporters were named Sportswriters of the Year.

Cosmopolitan celebrated 60 years of shaping conversations around love and relationships with a refreshed look across print, digital and social. The brand rang the Opening Bell at the New York Stock Exchange, featured its first couple on the Love Issue cover and earned major wins at the Webby Awards.

Marking Milestone Anniversaries

KCCI-TV in Des Moines, IA and KCRA-TV in Sacramento, CA marked 70 years on air, celebrating decades of trusted local journalism, community connection and storytelling. And WBAL-AM reached an extraordinary milestone of 100 years on the air!

MOTOR was again named a “Top Company for Women To Work for in Transportation” by the Women In Trucking Association, recognizing its inclusive culture, flexibility and commitment to advancing women in the automotive industry.

It was a remarkable year for Hearst Magazines editors, who were honored for their leadership and impact. Nina Garcia of ELLE received Crain's Women of Influence award; Editorial Director Lucy Kaylin received New York Women in Communications Matrix Award; Town & Country's Stellene Volandes was awarded the Fashion Group International's Media Award; Willa Bennett of Cosmopolitan and Seventeen was named to the Business of Fashion 500 and CULTURED's Cult100 lists and Steele Marcoux, editor-in-chief of VERANDA, accepted the National Trust's recognition as a Transformational Organization for its focus on preservation.

ESPN earned 13 awards at the 46th Annual Sports Emmys, matching its all-time record. The wins celebrate standout storytelling, live coverage and exceptional on-air talent across the network.

Colleagues from around the world gathered in New York for Fitch’s Employee Awards ceremony in March, honoring exceptional achievements in analytical excellence, strategic thinking and innovation.

Hearst Magazines celebrated a year of milestones across its global portfolio — from Good Housekeeping’s 140th, Prevention's 75th and Car and Driver’s 70th anniversaries to ELLE’s 40th celebration at Milan Fashion Week. There were also anniversary moments for Women’s Health, Men’s Health, Prevention, Country Living UK, Esquire Korea, Harper’s BAZAAR Spain, Delish, ELLE UK and Car and Driver Spain, marking decades of influence and storytelling worldwide.

King Features celebrated landmark anniversaries & cultural moments

From beloved classics to modern icons, King Features celebrated major cultural moments and milestone anniversaries this year — from Moomin’s 80th anniversary and U.S. expansion to Olive Oyl’s runway return with Moschino and Beetle Bailey’s 75th anniversary celebration at Hearst Tower. The momentum continued at the 2025 Reuben Awards, where King Features creators earned top honors, including lifetime achievement recognitions for Chance and Chris Browne, Sy Barry and John Kovaleski. Additional wins for Ricardo Liniers’ Macanudo and the Slylock Fox team underscored the depth, creativity and enduring legacy of King Features talent.

ESPN set new viewership benchmarks in 2025, delivering its most-watched tennis telecast of the year and the biggest Wimbledon coverage in six years, while historic audience numbers also boosted WNBA All-Star events and college football’s opening weekend.

FDB and QGenda were selected for community recognition in 2025: FDB was named a Top Workplace for the ninth year in Central Indiana and second year in the San Francisco Bay Area, and QGenda was recognized for the seventh consecutive year on ACG Atlanta’s Georgia Fast 40 list of fastest-growing companies.

The Midland Daily News, serving Midland County and Michigan’s Tri-Cities region, was named Daily Newspaper of the Year for Class C in the Michigan Press Association Better Newspaper Contest. The recognition honors the team’s outstanding reporting and local coverage, with several staff members also earning individual awards across news, features and sports categories.

Hearst’s Texas newspapers claimed top honors
in the Texas Managing Editors’ Excellence in Journalism competition, reinforcing their leadership in statewide journalism.

Hearst Television stations earned standout recognition across the country! KCCI-TV was honored by the Upper Midwest Regional Emmy Chapter for excellence in news, weather and marketing,  WESH-TV secured top state and regional awards from the Society of Professional Journalists, WBBH-TV was named Florida's Medium Market Station of the Year and WMTW-TV capped the year with 15 Maine Association of Broadcasters News and Creative Awards.
